Hyundai covers the high-voltage battery on its electrified vehicles in Australia for 96 months — 8 years — or 160,000 km, and the balance of the warranty transfers to a new owner.
What Hyundai does not publish is a minimum State of Health percentage. There is no figure in either its warranty page or its service and warranty terms document. The only capacity-related commitment Hyundai makes is that if a battery is replaced under warranty, the replacement's capacity will at least equal the original's capacity before it failed.

Hyundai applies this to "all new Hyundai Blue-drive vehicles" without distinguishing between battery-electric and hybrid traction batteries, so we cannot confirm from published terms whether a hybrid pack is treated identically to a BEV pack. If that distinction matters to your purchase, ask Hyundai in writing.
What the absence of a percentage means
It means degradation is not, by itself, a claimable event. Your IONIQ 5 could drift to 74% inside the warranty period and Hyundai has made no published promise about it. You would need a defect — a failed module, a cell fault, a BMS problem — for the warranty to engage.
Compare that with Kia, which is the same corporate group and does publish a 70% floor, or with Volkswagen, which publishes an entire stepped curve. Hyundai's silence is a real difference in what you are buying.
Note also that a widely-circulated Australian comparison source currently states Hyundai guarantees 70%. It does not. We checked the manufacturer's own documents specifically for this.
What to check on a used Hyundai EV
- In-service date against the 8-year term, and odometer against 160,000 km
- Which pack the car has. An IONIQ 5 has been sold here with 54, 74 and 80 kWh usable capacities, and an IONIQ 6 with 50 or 74 kWh. A test result means nothing until you know which car you are testing.
- The tested State of Health, which carries more weight here than on brands with a published floor, because it is the only capacity figure anyone will give you.
