Newer housing, better thermal outcomes
Almost everything here is recent construction with a garage, and a garaged car avoids the worst of western Sydney's summer load. That matters: heat is the main driver of capacity loss, and the difference between a garaged and an exposed car over four summers is measurable.
Home charging is also close to universal in this corridor — off-street parking, frequently solar, and overnight AC charging. Slow home charging is materially gentler on a pack than repeated DC fast charging.
The offsetting factor
Commutes from here are long. Whether by car the whole way or driving to a Metro station, the daily distance is real, and on an EV that means deep, regular cycles. Cycles age a battery more than kilometres, so a north-west commuter car's odometer understates the work the battery has done.
The net result is usually a car in good condition that has nonetheless been genuinely used — which is exactly the case where a measurement is more informative than a guess.
