The C40 Recharge is an XC40 Recharge with a sloping roof, and it shares both its batteries and the same unresolved warranty question. Volvo covers the pack for 8 years or 160,000 km, but its battery page promises action below 70% while its warranty page publishes no percentage and excludes gradual capacity loss. On a used C40, get Volvo's position in writing for that car.

Note how little range the bigger pack buys. The Twin Motor's extra 8 kWh is mostly consumed by the second motor and the extra weight, so the two cars end up 11 km apart on claimed range. At the modelled figures both land around 335–360 km of real driving. If you are paying a premium for the Twin Motor, you are paying for performance, not range.
From 2024 the car was renamed EC40. Listings use both names for what is mechanically the same vehicle; the warranty terms are identical.
The warranty contradiction, plainly
Two official Volvo Cars Australia pages say different things about capacity. One promises repair or replacement if State of Health falls below 70%. The other publishes no percentage and lists normal gradual capacity loss as excluded. We have not chosen between them, and neither should a listing. Both links are on our Volvo battery warranty page.

What normal looks like
The 2022 cars are now four years old. Expect high eighties to low nineties on a well-kept example. These are actively cooled packs that age predictably; the spread you see between cars will be climate and charging habit rather than anything inherent to the model.
What to check before you buy
Single or Twin Motor — 67 or 75 kWh usable, and do not pay a range premium for the bigger pack
