At 35.4 kWh, the Haval H6 GT PHEV's battery is larger than some full electric cars sold in Australia a few years ago, and it claims 183 km of electric range. Two caveats sit under that. The range is quoted on NEDC, which runs optimistic. And GWM's published battery warranty clause names its hybrids and its ORA EV — not its plug-in hybrids.
The pack
| Variant | Years | Battery (gross) | Electric range | Cycle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Haval H6 GT PHEV | 2025–2026 | 35.4 kWh | 183 km | NEDC — not WLTP |
NEDC typically runs 20–30% above WLTP. Treat 183 km as roughly 130–145 km of real electric driving — still far more than any rival plug-in, and enough that many owners will go weeks without the engine running.
Why a big PHEV pack is a different animal
A 35 kWh pack that DC fast-charges and covers a working week on electricity is, in duty terms, an EV battery. It will be cycled like one, charged like one and — for an owner who rarely uses the engine — depend on like one. That makes the cell-group balance and charging history far more informative than they would be on a 14 kWh plug-in that does a full cycle every afternoon. A car whose owner charged to 100% daily and DC fast-charged on trips has lived a harder life than one charged to 80% on a home wallbox, and the pack will show it.
The warranty gap, plainly
GWM's battery clause offers 8 years and unlimited private kilometres with a 70% floor to the ORA, Jolion Hybrid, H6 Hybrid and Tank hybrids. The H6 GT PHEV and the Cannon Alpha PHEV are not listed. We have marked the term, distance and floor unavailable. Get it in writing before you buy. Full detail: GWM battery warranty in Australia.
