The Formentor VZe, Leon and Terramar e-Hybrid — its plug-ins — get 8 years or 160,000 km of defect cover with no capacity guarantee at all. Same brand, same document, and the plug-in buyer gets the weaker half.

Earlier Formentor VZe models — sold from 2022 — carried a smaller pack with a much shorter electric range. The current 20 kWh car is a different plug-in from the first one, and listings frequently quote one car's range against the other's badge. Check the build year.
Why the distinction matters here
A plug-in pack does something close to a full cycle every day it is charged, which is the hardest duty a lithium battery gets. On the Born, that ageing is measured against a published curve and becomes Cupra's problem past the threshold. On the Formentor, Cupra's terms treat gradual capacity loss as normal wear — so it is yours.

What the assessment covers
The pack's reported State of Health, cell-group voltage spread, temperature behaviour and any stored or pending high-voltage fault codes. Cell spread is the early signal on a plug-in — it moves before the electric range noticeably shrinks.
