GWM's hybrid battery warranty is 8 years with unlimited kilometres for private use — 150,000 km for commercial use — and a 70% capacity floor. The clause names the Jolion Hybrid, the H6 Hybrid and the Tank hybrids alongside the ORA electric car. No other brand in Australia offers unlimited kilometres on a battery with a published capacity number.
The battery
The Jolion Hybrid uses a small lithium-ion pack buffering a turbocharged petrol engine and a two-speed hybrid transmission. It is shallowly cycled and lightly worked. The cheap NiMH reconditioning trade does not apply, but with a 70% floor and unlimited kilometres inside eight years, that matters less than it would on a Honda or a Hyundai.
What GWM does not say
Two things. GWM publishes no statement on whether the battery cover transfers to a second owner — we have marked that unavailable rather than assume. And GWM's plug-in hybrids are not named in the battery clause at all, which is a separate problem covered on the Haval H6 GT PHEV page. The Jolion Hybrid is named, so this page is the good news. What's normal
The Jolion Hybrid is one of the cheapest hybrids on the used market, and many were bought as first cars or second cars and driven modestly. A three-year-old example with 50,000 km should read comfortably in the nineties. Rideshare use is the pattern to ask about — it pushes a car to the 150,000 km commercial cap fast and works the pack hard.
On the test drive
Engine running at idle when it should not be, a charge gauge that moves quickly, fuel consumption above GWM's claim. Those are the early signals.
What to check before you buy
- Measured State of Health against the published 70% floor
- Cell-group voltage spread
- Stored and pending hybrid fault codes
- Private or commercial use, which sets the distance limit
- GWM's written position on transfer for that specific car
